Pros and Cons about a Great Gatsby Muppets adaptation
Pro: The Muppets haven't adapted many famous works
The only one I can remember them adapting is A Christmas Carol- having them adapt The Great Gatsby would be a way of introducing that book to a younger audience.
Con: There are a lot of Muppets movies
The Muppets have had a lot of films since they were introduced in the 60s- another film starring them might be seen by some people as just another cash grab at this point.
Pro: The nostalgia factor
However, the Muppets are a unique group in the sense that they can appeal to a wide age range- adults might see a film starring them because of the fact that they grew up with the Muppets in some form.
*It's kind of like Anamaniacs, where kids like the catchy songs while some of the jokes are for the adults in the audience.
Con: It might have a cash-grab feel
So far, the Muppets franchise has fourteen movies (eight feature films and six direct-to-video), eleven TV series, two television films, twenty-seven television specials (twenty-six if you don't count Disneyland's 35th Anniversary), two web series and seven video games.
*Sixty-two separate titles across four different media platforms since 1955- sixty-three if you count the Disneyland's 35th Anniversary special). So people would be justified in saying do we really need one more?
