Pros and Cons of a "Young Penny" Big Bang Theory spinoff

Pro: We might finally know Penny's last name!
Long-time fans of The Big Bang Theory will recognize this one- Penny's original last name was never revealed in twelve seasons. No one knew if the creators genuinely didn't know what her last name was or if they actually did know and just didn't tell anyone.

Con: Do we really want to know?
It's a long-standing writing rule that what the reader (or viewer) thinks is happening is better than anything definitive. TBBT fans have had twelve seasons to think about what Penny's last name might be and will probably come up with a lot of theories- as such, the reveal of Penny's actual last name might just be anticlimactic. 

Pro: Kaley Cuoco could return to narrate
This is purely speculation at this point, but Kaley Cuoco could return and lend her voice talent to narrate the series, much like Jim Parsons does already with the Young Sheldon spinoff. 

Con: But what about The Flight Attendant, Cuoco's new series? 
This one is purely a question as to how long TFA will run- Kaley could narrate a potential Young Penny spinoff after The Flight Attendant, of course, but wait too long and public interest in another spinoff could evaporate.

Pro: It doesn't yet feel like a cash grab
This isn't the Muppets adding title number sixty-three or sixty-four to their collection- not only would this be just the second TBBT spinoff, there's a lot of material that could be written based on what was seen in the show- when did Penny start considering acting? when did she start dating? when did she first become friends with Christie? what was her relationship with her family members? will we get to see her pet pig?

Potential Non-Arrowverse Crossover Idea

Borrowing from the 5th Wave movie, a really cool potential idea would be an hourlong special ( potentially from 9p Eastern to 10p Eastern one night? Maybe?) detailing the alien ship from that film passing over the various states in the U.S. This would be a BEHEMOTH ship, as the width would easily be the length from the Canada-Washington border to the very southern tip of California.  9p-9:20p- My idea would have it first move over Los Angeles ( 9-1-1 ) and Seattle ( Grey's Anatomy and Station 19 ) simultaneously.  9:20p-9:40p- Next, Texas would see it, which would bring 9-1-1: Lone Star into the mix.  And the final twenty minutes of the hour would see the Chicago trio (Fire, Med and P.D.) see the ship pass over Illinois.  I just had this idea last night and it might be super complicated but also super cool to pull off, as it would need the cooperation of seven different writers' rooms and also potentially three different TV networks (see below): 9p-9:20p: 9-1-1 ...

Thoughts on the Mysterious Benedict Society- Episodes 1 and 2

Phil Hay and Matt Manfredi deserve a ton of credit for writing Sticky's first scene in the pilot episode. In this brief clip, he gets a prize-money check but his parents take it away immediately. This, of course, is a reference to his backstory from the first book where his parents- after his increasing quiz show success- become more focused on the prizes he brings home than on his well-being. Episode 2 features a brief but very well-written moment courtesy of the same duo that beautifully captures Martina Crowe's personality, where she glares around the classroom and causes her fellow students to lower their raised hands. This is very much in keeping with Martina's "don't cross me" book personality.
