About the Elder Wand...

You remember when Deathly Hallows Part 2 came out and everyone made a fuss- and still do- about Harry snapping the Elder Wand in half and just throwing it away instead of putting it back in Dumbledore's tomb?

Here's my opinion- although I think the potential HBO TV adaptation should stick to the way the book played out, movie Harry didn't do anything wrong- here's why:

The Elder Wand can only be won by besting the previous owner.
This means that even if someone repaired the wand, they wouldn't be able to use it effectively because they didn't take it from Harry by force, like disarming him or something. So they've repaired it but they're using a wand that properly responds to someone else.
