Potential Book/Cartoon to TV Adaptations- Chomp- Pros and Cons

Book by Carl Hiaasen
Outline: What do you get when you throw a father/son animal wrangler duo with their mom in China, a girl in the son's class fleeing her abusive father, an egotistical man-child TV survivalist who's never actually camped out overnight, and the girl's drunk and pistol-wielding father into the Everglades?
Lots of things.

Pro: Fans definitely won't be bored.
*I'm not going to spoil anything, but pretty much each character in their book has their own story and they have ways of interconnecting.

Con: A live-action version might have to wait, as the Everglades filming location and general close-quarters of it all might not be the best during COVID restrictions.
*On the plus side, this gives a lot of time to get the scripts tip-top perfect and completely nail down both pre- and post-production.

Pro: It explores the meaning of friends as well as found family.
