2025 WWE Thoughts after the Royal Rumble

This might be a hot take, but here's why it's my opinion that John Cena losing the Royal Rumble is actually a good thing for WWE this year- it opens the door for a Revenge Tour.
Simply put, WrestleMania isn't the only place where John Cena can challenge for a 17th world title- there's SummerSlam, there's the Raw after WrestleMania, there's even Clash at the Castle.
Sure, he could win Money in the Bank and cash in at WrestleMania, much like Damian Priest last year, but WWE has no shortage of options for him to get another title shot.
Picture this: a revenge tour against some of these names: CM Punk, Randy Orton, Edge, Otis, Omos, Braun Strowman, Brock Lesnar, Logan Paul, Dominik Mysterio, Penta, Seth Rollins, Drew McIntyre, Andrade, Rey Mysterio, Jey Uso, AJ Styles, LA Knight, Roman Reigns, Chad Gable, Akira Tozawa, Shinsuke Nakamura, Jimmy Uso- I'm sure practically every Superstar would love to face Mr. Cena. After Cena builds a win streak (and think about the audience numbers WWE could pull in for this), he could face the champion at SummerSlam or another major event and end his curtain-call year as a world champ.

He'll probably need some time to recover after taking a Spear at the Royal Rumble, but my prediction for the rest of 2025 is that IShowSpeed will become a more major player in WWE moving forward. Potentially, he'll have a storyline or story arc as a character that fans want to get behind- I mean, for Pete's sake, he was RKO'd by Randy Orton at WrestleMania back in April and was then Speared by Bronn Breaker at the Royal Rumble this past weekend. He's certainly not lacking in athleticism. More than likely, what will happen is that he'll be a part of whatever feuds Logan Paul finds himself in.
